XON Retail Solutions will be exhibiting its electronic shelf label (ESL) and in-store display systems on stand 56 at the Retail World Africa 2014 exhibition from March 18 to March 19 at the Sandton Convention Centre.ESL gives customers more confidence in the accuracy of pricing; and store owners can operate their stores more efficiently.

“The more efficiently the stores are run, the more profitable they are, so the more they will grow, which benefits the entire organisation and customers. It’s a win-win scenario,” says Hendrik Bredenkamp, MD of XON Retail Solutions.

Price discrepancies can be a major issue for retailers who stand to lose revenues, customer loyalty, and incur additional costs through labour inefficiencies. Most retailers are keenly aware of this problem and actively pursuing ESL, which promises to remedy the situation. It reduces the time it takes to update prices in the shop because it eliminates the need for workers to physically replace paper labels. It therefore also improves price integrity substantially. With the addition of an infrared key, store managers and select employees can use the digital shelf labels to query stock levels at the shelf, which substantially enhances stock control, improves your cash flow and ultimately customer service.

“Retailers on average see a 4% increase in turnover after installing the system,” says Bredenkamp. “The increase in turnover justifies the system within 24 to 36 months and retailers benefits from the increased profits; much needed in a tough economic climate.”

XON Retail Solutions’ ESLs are already active at more than 300 SPAR, KwikSPAR, SuperSPAR and Tops stores,Pick n Pay stores, Makro Liquor stores and various Metro Hyper wholesalers, many independent stores, with more than 3,5 million active labels. Active rollouts are also underway at a major South African retail chain.
